IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

ARTS NIGHT WHICH WAS SCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 26, 2015 WILL BE RESCHEDULED.

ARTIST IN RESIDENCE - MRS. BROSSART - MOSAIC ART

On Monday, February 23, 2015 Mrs. Brossart visited our classroom to introduce students to the mosaic art form.  Each student chose one of the phases of the moon to practice mosaic art on paper. We will integrate science with art as third graders create a beautiful phases of the moon art piece in mosaic tiles in our Douglas Elementary courtyard.

Students had fun running laps in the Douglas Elementary Boosterthon.  They worked hard to raise money for our school!

100th Day Fun

We took a quick break last Thursday to have some fun during the 100th day of school.  Students made predictions on whether they could reach the center of their tootsie pop with more or less than 100 licks.  They then enjoyed testing their predictions with tasty, cherry tootsie pops.  Enjoy the pics below!

February 13 - Valentine Exchange (We will take a short break to exchange Valentines and enjoy some refreshments.  If your child would like to participate, please have him/her bring a Valentine for each classmate.  I sent a class list home previously.  If you need another copy, just let me know.)  

                           
February 24 - Third Grade Field Trip to the 
                     Planetarium in Chapel Hill, NC
                     (letter was sent home and is also posted on our classroom blog)
